Activity 4 -- Naming Pictures

Naming Pictures

Aims

This activity is designed to:

  • teach your child to say words

When to use this activity

Use this activity if you are teaching a book that includes new vocabulary or vocabulary that your child is unsure of or is less confident saying clearly.

This activity is suitable for children who have previously selected the pictures to be named.

Vocabulary

Use the vocabulary in the book you are teaching. If your child is more sure of some words than others, include them all in the activity so that your child can be successful as often as possible.

If you are modelling or prompting, repeat the word -- say "this is [park] -- [park]"
